Elizabeth is a birth doula based in Durham, North Carolina. She trained as a birth doula with Warm Welcome Birth in February 2020 in Northampton, Massachusetts. She received her BA in the Study of Women and Gender from Smith College, where she worked for two years under a historian creating a timeline of reproductive justice history. Drawing on her academic and historical background, she centers a reproductive justice framework in her doula care. She believes all people are deserving of high-quality, affirming labor support. Though we all have different relationships to our bodies and our births, we are unified in our need for understanding, compassionate care. She utilizes techniques like aromatherapy and positioning, as well as encouragement and a healthy dose of humor, to empower her clients during their birth.
In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys cooking new and old recipes alike, spending time with her younger cousins and nephews, and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
